value

We have been working on adding appropriate amounts of value to our drawings of the cranium. This means knowing where the plain of the skull is, and being able to use the right marks to define it. We looked at some drawings of the face by various drawing masters. Taking particular notice of the shading on the different plains of the face. This helped me understand that there needs to be a certain amount of consistency in order for the drawing to make sense.
Overall I have enjoyed skull drawing. It is a real challenge getting everything fine tuned enough to make sense as a drawing. Drawing masters of the 1500s, we salute you!
